Meet our founders-Samiya and Hina .Two very different personalities who share a similar backgrounds. Both of us always had the desire to be financially independent. However, marriage and having kids meant we had to take a career break. The desire to have something of our own made sure that we came together to pursue our dreams jointly.
We were clear we wanted to create a brand which was rooted in tradition and yet contemporary. As we started discussing our options, we realised we both shared the passion for Chikankari embroidery. Being from Lucknow we had seen the Chikankari artisans very closely as we learnt about their struggle and the hard work that goes into sustaining the craft.
We decided to come up with Riwa as a way to take Chikankari to places outside of Lucknow
and in turn support our artisans. Through Riwa our aim is to provide clothing options that are
traditional yet, contemporary, unique and yet extremely comfortable.

Our first offering is a range of Chikankari wear from the city of Nawabs, Lucknow. Handcrafted by local artisans coming from families who have perfected the art for centuries, each apparel is made with the same amount of love and passion.
The team pays utmost attention to quality and exclusivity of products and our collection is sure to impress everyone who appreciates all-things-fine. To enhance the beauty of Chikankari work, our collection also has traditional ‘Zardozi’, ‘Aari’, and ‘Muqaish’ handwork done by our artisans.
These traditional designs are available through a wide variety of apparels for all tastes ranging from Kurtis, Salwar Suits, and Bottomwears . You can also choose to customize your dress by choosing to go with unstitched pieces.
By bringing their craft closer to you, we ensure that our artisans get a fair price for their work. We believe this is not only their right but also the only way to sustain the art which is increasingly seeing dwindling number of trained artisans.
